**BUS DRIVER**
*NESD Head Start Program, Inc.*
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:** Prior commercial driving experience and working with children is preferred.
**QUALIFICATIONS:** Must possess a good driving record and a Class “C” Commercial Operator’s License (with School Bus Endorsement). Strong rapport with children and collaboration with staff and families is essential. Background checks are mandatory.
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** Ability to lift 30 lbs. and pass an ICC physical exam.
**WORK SCHEDULE:** Follows the annual contract calendar.
**SUPERVISION:** Reports to the Education Coordinator.
**EVALUATION:** Performance reviews conducted by the Education Coordinator twice in the first year, then annually.
**SALARY RANGE:** Starting at $14.00 per hour, with increments based on experience and funding.
**POSITION OBJECTIVES:**
1. Ensure safe transport of children to and from the Head Start Center.
2. Maintain children’s safety on the bus and adhere to driving safety rules.
3. Engage families positively regarding schedules and encourage participation.
4. Collaborate with staff on children’s behaviors and assist in classrooms.
5. Keep records updated and submitted on time.
6. Pursue continuous improvement through education and training.
*We support obtaining your CDL through classes and testing, with a commitment of 2 years post-licensing with Head Start.*
**Job Types:** Full-time, Contract
**Pay:** $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
**Expected Hours:** 40 per week
