}*Overview:*
We are seeking a reliable, highly skilled and safety-conscious Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team in the logging industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting logs from forest sites to processing facilities or other designated locations.
*Key Responsibilities:*
– Safely operate and maneuver Class A CDL vehicles, including tractor-trailers and other logging trucks, in various weather and terrain conditions.
– Transport logs from forest sites to processing facilities or designated drop-off locations, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to schedules.
– Run the boom loader on the trailer to load, and load logs.
– Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
– Secure loads using chains, binders, and other equipment before transport and inspect logs for damages.
– Document and maintain accurate logs and records of routes, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
– Communicate effectively with dispatchers, other drivers, and mill personnel.
– Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
– Report defects, violations, issues, or incidents to the supervisor or/and management immediately.
– Follow the flexible work schedule including early mornings and weekends.
– Demonstrate a commitment to safety by following company policies and procedures, participating in safety training programs, and promptly reporting any accidents, incidents, or violations
– Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
*Qualifications:*
– Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
– 2+ years of proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with experience in logging industry
– Ability to operate logging trucks and other specialized equipment
– Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures
– Strong understanding of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
– Excellent driving skills, including the ability to navigate narrow roads and rough terrain
– pass background, drug and Alcohol testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations
– Ability to read and interpret maps and driving directions
– Ability to operate and maintain vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently
– Good communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to lift heavy loads
– Strong work ethic.
*Working Conditions:*
– Work primarily takes place outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
– May involve exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental factors typical of logging operations
– Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects
– Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team in remote or isolated areas
