**SUMMARY:**
The Bus Driver is tasked with safely transporting students in compliance with local and state regulations. Responsibilities include ensuring student safety during boarding and disembarking, adhering to traffic laws, maintaining order on the bus, and keeping a vehicle log for maintenance. This part-time position spans 45 weeks during the school year, requiring a valid Class B Minnesota Driver’s license, First Aid certification, and a clean driving record.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
– High School diploma or GED required.
– Certificate in truck/bus driving (3 months to 1 year).
– 3-5 years of bus or truck driving experience.
– Valid Class B Minnesota Driver’s license with necessary endorsements.
– Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks and drug tests.
– Positive service image and compliance with drug policies.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
– Drive assigned routes, report changes.
– Ensure vehicle safety checks.
– Maintain on-time schedules and drop-offs.
– Verify all children exit the bus safely.
**WORKING CONDITIONS:**
– Exposure to outdoor elements and fumes.
– Part-time hours typically involve two hours each morning and afternoon, with occasional extra hours.
– Local travel required.
