POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Vice-President, Supply Chain, the Transportation Manager will act as an expert for our District of Green Bay. As such, they will lead a team consisting of one (1) supervisors, (2) transportation administrators, and approximately thirty-five (35) drivers, which includes 2 lead drivers. This person will set the different priorities for his team and will ensure their outstanding execution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and coordinating all Transportation operations
Ensuring highest level of service to our customers
Planning, coordinating and communicate health and safety programs
Setting priorities and allocating tasks
Ensuring compliance with the different procedures and corporate policies, by promoting employee involvement in order to optimize the working environment
Working at increasing profitability and reducing operating costs
Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation activities
Ensuring compliance with State & Federal regulations
Evaluates his/her employees, assessing their performance and coach for growth
Ensuring the optimal use of all Transportation systems
Maintaining good relationships with other departments of the Sanimax group
Contributing to the Company’s growth, in cooperation with the different districts as well as the Operations, Sales and Procurement departments.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years experience in transportation management
Strong leadership and demonstrated change management abilities
Relational capacity in order to ensure close cooperation between the various districts as well as the department’s own customers
Superior planning and management skills
Relational abilities: collaboration, communication and listening skills;
Ability to work within tight deadlines
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Good computer knowledge, with the following software considered an asset
(M3, Verizon Connects, Hand Held devices, Kronos, Guide TI, Route Administrator, etc.)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
